27 May 2014 (more drizzle but still don't care - still at Ray's😊)

Just like the eighties pop group WET…WET…WET…. That’s exactly what the weather was up to today.
It rained from first light and as I write this piece it has only just stopped in the last half hour.
It was that drizzle which doesn’t look much but can soak you very quickly if you get caught in it.
So, thankfully today, we were not on the bikes, but still at Rays soaking up the hospitality.
A very relaxing day where Ju and I mapped out what our route is to be tomorrow and the next few days. From here we are travelling toward Oxford, the city of spires. One of the foremost university towns, Oxford is full of fantastic architecture and history and well worth a visit. I remember it well from my teenage years whilst journeying throughout these fair isles.

Ray, Mark, Lesley and Pete in Market Harborough

A lunch date with Ray, Lesley and Mark at the Three Swans pub in the market town of Market Harborough with more great conversation, capped off a wander around the place, looking for waterproof trousers for the bikes.  We’re hoping that now we have splashed out and bought waterproof trousers (forgive the pun), that Murphy’s Law will ensure we get no more rain for the entire bike trip.
Afternoon was spent lolling around and getting gear ready for take off tomorrow, no matter what the weather.  Julia’s knee has been rested so by limiting our riding to 40 or 50km per day for the next four days, we are hopeful of a good recovery.
